A little place called C At Hell
Just got some really sweet manzanita branches and I want to give the appearance of them coming down from the top of the tank.

I have heard of hanging branches from the glass panels with fishing wire, but am not sure how well that will work because of the current in my tank. The branches might sway back and forth, or might just stay to one side of the fish tank all together.

I was wondering if gluing the flat ends of the branch stump to a suction cup might be a better way to create this illusion in my fish tank?

Any suggestions?

Several ways to do this. If they're long enough, attach the ends to a piece of tile to act as a base, then bury the tile in the sand. They'll stand right up. That's what I did on my tank :)

Unfortunately they are not long enough. Just short by a couple inches.

I used zip ties around the tank bracing and drilled a hole through the driftwood. They're not going anywhere and could hold up against a pretty good current, that is if you have the bracing to go around...

Amazing tank dxdx!

I found a similar solution by taking the plastic braces from a heater w/ 2 suction cups on each side, drilling a hole in the middle, adding a long stainless steal screw that was then screwed into the top of the piece of driftwood.

Turned out to work really well. Can turn the branches by removing the suction cups from the glass panels, or simply turning them on the wet glass.

Guess pondering aquascaping at work all day, and not getting anything productive done pays off :D
