I need to figure out how I want my overflow box on an aquarium I'm putting together soon.

These are some options I know of:

1. Buy an overflow box. Dont really want to spend that much.

2. DIY Plywood + epoxy overflow box?

3. Acrylic?

4. Glass?

5. PVC Overflow?

any other ideas?

Is you tank drilled????

The tank isnt drilled, but drilling shouldnt be a problem.

I want this tank to look really clean, so if I can avoid PVC overflows that would be best. But I also dont want to spend 100 bucks on an overflow box.

I am going to start on my plywood this week and I am thinking that I will make overflows out of wood and epoxy them and silicone em'

If you can drill it, then drill it. Drilled tanks are less maintenance and if you paint the PVC black you'll never notice the overflow.

I used ABS its already black, i hear it isn't the best thing to use aparently it leeches **** into the water, but it seems to be doing fine for me, pretty much all the plumbers here use it in houses, not 100% sure that it is used for all the potable water or not so i can't say its fine, i can just say thats what i used and i wouldn't switch it cuz it worked fine for me but if u can use pvc from the start do it.

PVC is just less expensive and more available.

I've also seen black PVC @ Lowe's. It's not that much more expensive, but it only comes in 2 or 3 foot lengths.

If I drill the tank how do use the pvc?

Sorry, I thought PVC overflows were for tanks that arent drilled.
