DIY Overflow not staying primed.

The tee fitting should be on the other side of the U . same side as the vent.

this is just a quick pic taken off the internet. Don’t pay any attention to the short vent . The vent needs to be higher than intended water level like yours is. Your drain just needs to move to the other side.
 
If this is for an autodrip drain id just drill the tank… theres probably not enough flow to keep a siphon no matter what u do…. IME this style overflow is always destined to fail with the low flow of autodrips in tank or from a sump… some guys get away with using 3/8”-1/2” lines to account for the minimal flow but theres no guarantee like with gravity… it will come back to haunt u. Drilling glass is easy if u take ur time, less work than all the plumbing u did already ?
 
Dumb question maybe but how do you keep water level stable if you're constantly adding water?
