I need a DIY overflow that can handle 2500gph...any ideas?

I could settle for 1500 GPH too

I beleive you will need a pair of 2" overflows to handle this. We had discussed before the ratio to GPH / Pipe diameter and ended up with this:

.75" = 256GPH
1.5" = 1024GPH
3" = 4096GPH

I have heard that anything over 1.5 is a waste when it comes to they overflow outlined in the DIY sticky.

why is that?

Your best bet will be to drill the tank. That's some serious flow.

How big is the tank (out of curiosity)

IMHO the only waste when it comes to plumbing is the wasted water on my carpet. I've learned to oversize all projects because it keeps pressure down, can be scaled up WHEN I upgrade, and does not become the bottleneck causing my house flood. Take it or leave it.

Its for a 110. I like to over do things :D

I would love to have it drilled but the only place I know of wont guarantee they wont crack the glass and that scares me because I have everything I need for this setup now and it would suck to have it all ruined.

I have personally drilled a tank before, its not that hard, really you could do it yourself. just make sure that the drill cuts the glass, your not trying to shove the bit through the glass. Just enough pressure to allow the teeth to grind the glass away, just make sure that you wear ear plugs and have water to pour over the glass as you cut. having someone else there is helpful.

its half inch glass...I really dont want to have it be my first try.

I may just take it in some where to get it cut.

Anyone know what size hole I would need? I would like to try for just one but if you guys think I need multiple than sizes for those would also be helpful.
