diy overflow?

Hey Oddball, would the intakes from an XP3 work or do you need the gravity drain setup? The XP3 already has the opening at the top of the plumbing for filling the filter.

The XP3 pipe wouldn't work. The fill cap is on the siphon side of the assembly. It may work if you could figure how to attach the siphon loop to it and make the cap the siphon break. IMO, too much trouble to try to fit non-compatible pipe diameters/materials.
 
I have a quick question for this. What happens when the power goes out? The over flow syphin looks like it would need to be started everytime you break the seal.

If done correctly; then the system rests with water in it, thats whu the multiple loops.
