DIY Overflows

I figured i would share my DIY overflow project. I started with 4 pieces of 1/4 acrylic. The pieces are 6" x 30" Tall. I have a buddy who works with a CNC Machine. Here are some pics.

After these pieces were cut i used Weld-On 40 to weld them together. I have no pics of the welding process but i do have after pics.

I had the tank drilled in the back of the tank. The bottom is tempered. I had 2-1" drains and 2-3/4" returns drilled. I plumbed everything up and siliconed the overflows in .

Nice job. They look great. Very professional.
 
Very clean look, very professionally done...

Personally I would have used an approach that picked water up at the bottom where the waste settles, but to each his own I guess...

What suggestions do you have then? I looked to buy the Mega flow kit that but they do not sell the overflow itself. Powerheads will have to move detirus of the bottom.
