I saw a stack of pallets in front of a business just up the road from my house, and above them was a sign reading "Free!" I can hardly ever pass up free, so I started brainstorming what I might do with a stack of pallets, and then it hit me; Patio furniture! I've been needing/wanting a table and chairs for my back patio for over a year, but didn't want to drop a couple hundred bucks on it, so I decided I would build my own! Here are the photos.
The raw material:
Turning it into a stack of lumber:
I gave up on the hammer and pry bar after a couple pallets. I moved on to the reciprocating saw to just cut through the nails. Much easier!
What once was a stack of pallets is now a pile of lumber:
The center of the tabletop. It's going to be a hexagonal table:
Making progress:
All pieces cut and test-fitted:
Now we need some framework to hold it together. I call this "the spider."
Here are the pieces all nailed to the spider. All that moisture is sweat. SC in July is one hot, humid mofo.
