Hi guys.
Check these out. I wanted to give my bichirs a few more hiding spots.
I made these with cut strands of plaastic straw bound to a weight by rubber bands.
Did it on all my tanks!


the material is ok with the fish ...right?

Hey that looks great! Good thinking too.

Something else that I came up with is to use silk plants from craft stores. They have to be weighted though.

Silk plants would work better than these. They're prettier. :)
These are a lot cheaper though.

Here's what they look like up-close...
 
The only thing I see is that the rubberbands will deteriorate over a short time. Most rubberbands last only 2 weeks in my tank before they are too weak, and snap on their own.

Test the silk plants, some colors bleed and any exposed wires rust.

My pleco ate part of one once, no prob tho (made it look more realistic).

But they do look good (better than the neon pink plastic plants)
