IMG_3492.JPG so I have been having a hard time finding fake plants large enough for my tank. So recently a friend suggested silk plants from the dollar store. I was able to find some big enough and some rocks to silicone them to. I'm just wondering if there is a way to know or find out if these plants will leech chemicals into my tank?

I have checked the rocks with muratic acid, credit to diy king. Then I cleaned and boiled in salt water. I have waited the 24 hrs for the silicone to dry. Rinsed everything off and added the plant to my tank. Only hearing about possible chemical leeching today, I am a bit concerned as I am seeing that the plant is losing colour. The fish seem to be fine so far.

If I do a water test, what would I looking for, would the typical 4 tests show any signs of poisoning my fish?

Signs of poisoning in fish: cloudy eyes, lethargy, redness.

However many silk plants seem fine for aquaria
