Hi. I am staritng to plan for my senior project and I was wondering if some of u have plans for your plywood tanks or ones u have seen on internet sites. I want to make it around 8' x 4' x 4'(maybe 3') L x W x H. How thick should the glass be?? Wat should i seal the plywood with??? any help u can give me will be greatly apreciated

There is a certain type of paint that I came across one day. It will seal the plywood and the interior of the tank you are building. As with any DIY work on tanks, make sure the silicon and paint you use say "potable" on it. By seeing this you will now that water that has touched that surface can be used for human consumption, not that you would want to do that with your tank water, because there are no chemicals or toxin that leach out of what you are using.

For waterproofing your tank you can contact sanitred.com, they sell some stuff that actually attach to almost any surface, such as wood, and is fish safe.

The glass thincknes increases with height. For your 3´H, a 3/4 inch glass should be enough. A 24 inch H is easier to work with (1/2´ inch glass)

cheers
