I'm pretty sure I've looked high and low and was just wondering if someone could tell me the glass thickness needed on my project.

The tank is roughly 8'L X 30"H X 36"D.

Due to external bracing, I would say the viewing window would be no larger then 7' X 22".

My 2nd question would be, if I made the tank to have 2 front facing viewing windows, say 3' X 22", would that be stronger and need less thick glass?

Thank you!

If you use a single sheet at the seem thickness it will need to have a stronger center brace. While the PSI will be the same, the longer span will flex more. How will will the water level be compared to the viewing window?

FSM - I'd say 1/2" - 1" above the viewing window(s). Similar to an all glass tank with plastic trim.

BadOleRoss - Thank you! You saved me from posting a horrid picture I just threw together at work.
