Ok, guys - I have searched for something similar that had been done and couldn't find it. It's highly possible I just missed it.

I have been thinking about doing a plywood build, love diy and do lots of it around the house. I have what's left of a 60 x 18 x 26 tank, back glass was cracked and bottom was shattered. Yeah it was a bad day, involved a hammer and dropping the tank. Don't ask :)

If I build a ply tank with the same height, can I just reuse the good glass panels - one 60 x 26 and the two 18 x 26 end pieces? They would be the viewing windows, I know it will be a pain to separate them from the frame, but hate to just toss the tank. I guess I could get replacement glass and work on repairing it instead, but where would the fun be in that ?

Thanks for your help and suggestions!

Well you know that you have 2 options. But I think you could use the glass.

Think building plywood is what I'm leaning towards. If I used the 3 good glass pieces across the front I could get a 96" long tank out of it.. Maybe do one 96 x 24 x 30. I'll do some more thinking and run up some drawings for it. Thanks.
