Well quick catch up since I havent posted on my build. I am finishing up a 10'x8'x40" Above ground Ply pond. An 8'x2'x40" section is boxed off to serve as an adjacent sump. Leaving an 8'x8'x40" square pond area for the fish. It is complete structually and installing the Liner is all that remains. Before I do so though, I am completing a roof-like covering as in my current pond. It is basically a cover made with the same material used for plant nurseries.

It allows sunlight through, but limited...reducing Algae issues (pond to have UV regardless), and no direct sunlight to the fish.

I am setting up a continuous line of black PVC running back and forth on the roof. Its to be fed via a secondary pump from the sump, run water through the PVC to be heated via sunlight, and then back to the pond.

For those of you wondering, I am in Miami, FL and my yard gets a good amount of sunlight per day.

My concern though is controling the temp allowance. We have many days in summer where the water will be in the 80's without any assistance....don't want to boil my fish. I just found a RANCO Electronic Temperature Control - 111000000

http://www.rancoetc.com/ranco-etc111100000-digital-temperature-controller010v-output-p-97.html

I forgot I had, havent used this in years. It works fine, and it used to control a chiller on a Reef set-up.

Will this solve my problem? Shut off the secondary pump when a certain temp is reached?

Any Other Ideas/suggestions are always welcome.
