A FEW YEARS BACK I SET UP A 6FT TANK WITH PRESSURIZED CO2 INJECTION. I USED A BOC GASES DUAL STAGE REGULATOR $130 AU AND A NUPRO FINE CONTROL VALVE FROM BRISBANE VALVES AND FITTINGS $100AU CO2 SAFE AIRLINE HOME MADE BUBBLE COUNTER AND A DUPLA REACTOR S ITHINK IT WAS CALLED (MANY MOONS AGO). THE TANK OF GAS WAS JUST A SWAP AND GO SET UP FROM BOC GASES WHEN THE TANK WAS NEAR EMPT I SIMPLY WENT AND PICKED UP A FULL ONE BROUGHT IT HOME AND TOOK THE EMPTY ONE BACK. ALL I HAD TO PAY WAS A RENTAL FEE AND FOR 10KG OF CO2 ENOUGH FOR ABOUT A YEAR ON MY LARGE TANK. I STILL HAVE A TANK CYLINDER AND REGULATOR LYING AROUND WILL POST SOME PICTURES SHORTLY......

yeh `i was thinkinh of doing a boc setup but use milwakee regulators needlevalesetc....

Not really DIY, unless you are building all the parts. The milwaukee parts are all very good.

THE DIY PART OF THE THREAD SIMPLY MEANS THAT I BUILT A CO2 INJECTION SYSTEM OUT OF INDUSTRIAL STRENGH COMPONENTS THAT ARE COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE. THIS FOR ME WORKED OUT TO BE MUCH CHEAPER THAN ANY PRE PACKED OUT OF THE BOX SYSTEMS LIKE DUPLA AND SERA. THE SYSTEM IS ALSO EXPANDABLE BY SIMPLY ADDING A MANIFOLD AND EXTRA FINE CONTROL VALVES YOU CAN RUN MULTIPLE SETUPS OFF THE ONE 10KG TANK.

SO WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS IF I BUILD A FISH TANK BE IT GLASS CONCRETE BLOCK OR PLYWOOD YOU ARE SAYING THAT IT CAN'T BE CLASSIFIED AS DIY BECAUSE YOU CANNOT MANUFACTURE GLASS, CONCRETE BLOCK OR PLYWOOD IN YOUR GARAGE?

no but u arent actually doing anything urself accept assembling it . you arent cutting stff or adhering the only thing ud cute is tubing. unless you fromed the cylinder that holds co2 or made the needle valves than it isnt diy.

DiY co2 generally stands for reaction co2, or yeast/sugar co2 setups. Assembling the parts isn't diy either though. For instance, I purchased all my Milwaukee parts seperate, and assembled them myself, however, that still isn't DIY.

This sounds like DIY to me Catfish_Mick. Pressurized cylinders are not to be taken lightly. DIY to me means using your head and ANY materials wisely, it doesnt mean making everything from scratch.

no but technically speaking he did not build it as such. fair enough if you made a part of it like bubble counter than you put for a title diy bubble counter or wat eva .
