Hi All, It's been nearly 9 years since I posted here last! Between family, work and lack of space and time, I haven't been able to keep fish. Finally, that is starting to change and I am going to be able to get back into fish keeping!
So I need your help and comments during the planning and building of this project basically! I'll be posting regular updates as this progresses over the next couple of months.
Tank Size: 78"L x 30"H x 24"W (Being custom made) 12 or 15mm glass. Opti-White.
Filtration: 2x FX6 or Sump? I need to research this a bit more as I have never run a sump. Have been using canisters since the 80's! The water here comes out around 20-30ppm Nitrates
so that needs to be considered.
Lighting: 2/3 x AI Prime or Ecotech (Something smart app-enabled / wifi)
Wavemaker: Ecotech (Something smart app-enabled / wifi)
Water change system: I am thinking that a continual drip system may be the way forward.I want this to be as easy and as maintenance free as possible.
Fish stock: Still undecided but will probably be freshwater cichlids.
This is the initial plan, what do you think? Existing bookshelf will go. This build will be floor to ceiling and the existing skirting boards will wrap around the new setup making it look like it is meant to be there. Coving will also be installed at the same time. This room is around 3M wide and 6M long. Drawing is to scale 1:20.
