So a pvc overflow skims water from the top, my return is a spray bar that agitates the surface of the water for better oxygen exchange, would that not be limited circulation for a tank. Would it be better if you put a larger piece of pvc over the intake pipe and let it stick out of the water a little so it would draw from the bottom instead of the top? Kind of like this pond overflow design.
