Just wanted to know if any of you that have been using the pvc overflows
have experienced any issues in long term use.
I was JustLooking at the one i made a few weeks back & thought about the traps
clogging with crap,slowing the flow.
Is this a concern or am i wasting thought on nothing.....

If you do notice signs of clogging, get one of those ball shaped brushes that is on like a heavy fishing string. You will need to remove the overflow for this. Feed the string through with water current (kitchen sprayer or garden hose) and pull the brush through. Then rinse the overflow with high water current to remove anything that remained.

If you run into short cleaning cycles, clean it and then use bleach to nuke the inside. You will need to rinse it at least three times and then let it soak for about an hour in water with a double dose of dechlor. Before putting the overflow back in service, test the soak water to see if there is any Cl2 in it. Repeat the soak step with fresh water if there is.

I never have had a problem with mine. It's been running 9 months or so.
