DIY python with garden hose

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just about any hose can be used.
The amount of contact time, water going into a tank is next to zero.
Plus, any left over water from previous WC, will be flushed out during the drain/cleaning part of the WC.

:iagree: I use a standard garden hose (only gets used for water changes). I drain it each time before putting it away. Sometimes I get lazy and leave it out (full of water), but I always drain the tank before filling it so the water in the hose never makes it into the tank. If I used a hose for potable water, my methods wouldn't change.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter, but someone gave me this big spiel about making sure it was drinking water safe so it didn't have chemicals and crud in it when I first got all my materials, so I got one anyway.

If you're looking for them, they're carried in most stores like K-Mart, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, any camper/rv supply store, etc. It'll say "Drinking Water Safe" on the label and they typically are a different color than the normal ones. Mine's white.
