i was thiking about making a reufugium for my 125, to grow out some smaller plants and fish, i have a few empty 20 and 30 gallons, how do i go from there connecting that to the tank i was thinking maybe 3/4 pvc piping?

my saltwater fish friend is helping me out on this one
if i take the heater out of the main tank and put one in the refugium, can i just have a heater sufficient to heat the refugium or to heat the main tank?

it need to be able to heat the main tank

ok thats what i was thinking, thanks for the help, ill post pics of the finished project

Actually the heater you put in your sump should have the capacity to heat the total volume of water. That means your main tank+your sump.

refuge mostly have a low turn over it may not heat the main tank properly but its worth a try
