diy rock question

I have read of a different things I can use but what do I need to look out for of what NOT TO get ie what ingredients are not usable (I cant get some of the stuff that is safe for the fish)

Qwickcrete. My 100 gal has a full BG in Styro and cement mixed to the colour I want. It's been in my tank for 4 months now and has algae growing all over it. My fish graze off the rocks all day so I doubt it's poison.

I believe its called agrocrete. But you need portland cement sand or crushed coral or crushed oyster shell (chicken feed) and rock salt (water softener) the salt dissolves when curing and helps make it porous. I have a link on my p.c. if you need it. Just do a search on garf.org
