diy stand and canopy

i'm using a how to i found on here to make my own stand and canopy for my 125. should i make the stand edges flush with the aquarium or should i leave a little space around the sides?

Do whatever works for you. I like to make the stand flush and use a piece of trim around to voer up the plastic on the tank.

I made my stand about a 1/4" wider and deeper than the tank.

thanks for the responses. i wasnt sure if it would be alittle unstable if the tank sit right on the edge. i ended up leaving alittle space on the sides and leaving a few inches on the back so i could cut holes to run cords and the filter hoses through.

Your probably better off doing that anyway. Sounds like you have it under control.
