I want to set up a 50 breeder in my living room and I don't care about looks. I want it to be pretty tall like eye-level, and then maybe have a table next to it I can stand on when I am working in it. Would it be safe to do a big stack of cinder blocks?

I am worried that they will be too much weight for my living room floor. I live in a pretty old house.

I'd get a builder or an engineer to if you're really worried. That many cinder blocks with a tank on top is going to be quite a heavy set-up.

You should be fine.

You want the tank at eye level though? So that would mean the blocks would be stacked up what, 4-5.5 feet tall? That's probably a bit tall for the blocks to securely be stacked. You can have a basic wood 2x4 stand built for probably not too much.
