Hello all
Just about finished work on my 2x6 stand for my 250 gallon. I have a question. I just noticed that the front top 2x6 (the beam that the tank rests on) has a slight bow at the end. Should I replace this with another section? The stand is all 2x6 skinned top bottom back and sides with 3/4" plywood. I appreciate your experienced advice!

Thanks david

Not worried about how level it is because it is dead flat.more concerned about the space between the wood as a result of the slight twist at the end. Or might I just be obsessing about this?

Fill it with wood glue and you'll never have to worry about it moving again.

if you are concerned about it I'd use lag bolts instead of screwing the 2x6's together, that's what I did with my stands but then again I like my stuff to be bulletproof lol. the bolts will pull that gap together but honestly you'll be fine either way.

You are fine without it. And no, you don't need foam.

If you're concerned merely for aesthetic purposes, remove the screws at that end and screw one in dead center of the curved board and then reset previously installed screws. Should pull the board flat if your are using long enough screws.
