An island somewhere......
I needed a little bit of therapy yesterday so I whipped out the saws, pulled out the lumber and "whipped" a DIY stand together for my Brother. Took about 4 hours and I'll probably put another 4 more into it to get it complete and to furniture grade.

This will be accomidating his LeeMar Starphire Eurobraced Reef tank. Tank dimensions are 36"x24"x20", Stand dimensions are 37.5"x24.75"x33" (trim included in measurements). I still need to build a couple of recessed panel doors, the sharp edges will still need to be routered round, nail holes filled, sanded and of course stained.

I wasn't paying attention while flipping the stand that the surface with all the knots were suppose to be upside down and the nice, finished side was suppose to be up. Oh well. Sorry for the bad camera phone pictures, was too involved in the work to take updated photos of each step.

The "Square Sticking/Cottage" look would match my interior doors but this is going to a more modern, dark wood home.

Nice job!

Oh, I thought nobody cared so I didn't bother to update. Thanks for the comments.

I actually just finished yesterday since I've been out of the hobby and bored with the whole production. Finally got motivated to reclaim my garage so I sorta rushed the finish product.

Here it is.... designed for a 36"x24"x20" LeeMar Starphire Eurobraced glass tank. Soon to be a reef system. Temporarily in his house till he moves..... won't be set up til then.
