I am planning on doing a stand out of 2x4s and would like to know which design would be strong enough.

Tank: 72"x30"x24"H (240g, 2700 lb?)

A, B, or C?

Thanks in advance.

i would go with A but i would use 2x6's for the top span length wise just for the extra strength.

this is my vote as well you have lots of vertical support on the ends but I would definatly go wiht thicker for the top horizontal. either that or add a 2x4 center support and you would be fine.

Yay that's a good idea when it comes to this stuff you always Won't it to be over built 240 gallons is a lot of water

a,b,c, would all be very strong, but you need to add a couple center vertical braces...you don't want it to sag.

You could park a mack truck on any of them. Toe nailed 2x4's with a 15" center even "A" is alot more than you'd really need especially if you plan to case it in plywood.
