So I am about to start building a stand for the 180g 6x2x2 I am getting in a few days. I have got the design down pat, but i ran into trouble when it came to the actual height of the stand. I was thinking 70-75 cm high, would that leave enough room for a 3ft sump? I.e. access cleaning etc?

Thanks in advanced

You have 2 options for sump access:

Make a slide out drawer for your sump and make enough clearance for the stand that the sump slides out ontop of the drawer.

Make the stand so that you have a minimum of I'd say 8" between the top of the sump and the top of the hole in the stand where you access it. I had 2" last time so I'd have to finagle my arm in there to do any maintenence.....Worst thing EVER. Make sure you have enough room to access your sump easily. It will make life much easier.

You just have to do some measuring and planning.
