I'm hating my clear background. Can you suggest some DIY ideas for me?Here's what it looks like. I prefer the color black.
Maybe cheap black background and laying down a couple white egg crate or something just so it looks unique.
I know.. it sounds kinda rediculous but it may look kinda cool... who knows... Ideas?

Just paint the back of the tank black. I do it to all of my glass tanks. Use black latex paint. It comes right off if you decide you dan't want it anymore or you want to sell it.

Painting it is the easiest and fastest way to change the look of your tank....:grinno:

unless its full of water and the back is tough to get to.... in that case, just pay 5 bucks and get a background

When I want black background, I tint the back of my tanks with the darkest window tint I can find. Water cannot get in between it. Use soapy water and a spray bottle to adhere it. Then smooth it out with a squeegee. Razer blade the edges. Finish the two sides with a BIC razer. Stand back and admire.

stick some dark tiling on the back, move the tank somewhere else, if they sell black foam(same material like the premade ornamental ones you can buy), cut some texture into it and stick it on the back side. problem with all these is you'll need to drain the tank.

may be rig up a backboard to put on the exterior on the back of the tank instead. Or refurbish your house walls, 2 birds one stone!
