DIY sump for a 94

Never had a sump so I thought my first one would make for a good DIY project.

My question is would a 30 gal sump be big enough for my 94 gal tank?

I thought about using for a larger breeding pair or a single large specimen but can't decide. My "Geo" brasiliensis are breeding like crazy so I may just go withe the single fish.
