DIY sump/wet dry material question

Hello all,

I have been doing some research on building a sump/wet dry for a 110 gallon tank I am going to be starting. First I have seen many simple and creative designs to choose from and I have noticed many people using plastic storage bins for the sump, my question is what are is the possibility of these containers leaching harmful chemicals into the water? Has anyone had an issue with this? Also is there any type of plastic to avoid? Do the containers have to be "food safe", if so an suggestions on where to pick one up?

Also anyone having photo's of their DIY filters please post them, I have not decided on a design yet.

stick to rubbermaid or sterelite. these are commonly used on this forum, and have not had any ill effects.
you can buy them at most hardware stores, or your local walmary/ kmart/ target/ etc

a quick search through the DIY section will give you a lot of different examples.
