After nearly a month of gathering materials, I have finally finished my sump. I originally had planned to use baffles, but after a series of mishaps with the baffles, I decided to go baffleless and use the baffles to build a lid. I also built a one inch pvc overflow that works pretty well. The only thing that I am missing is the pump. I ordered a mag 3 pump from iiitara, and I let him ship it out using parcel post. That was a big mistake as it's been 2 weeks and no pump yet, and after doing some research online I found that parcel post is unreliable and could take up to 2 months.
Hopefully it comes earlier because I have been itching to test this sump out. I have the overflow output flowing on to filter pads, with bio balls surrounding them. I know bio balls shouldn't be submerged but I figure some of them are exposed to oxygen and I also have air stone underneath them for added oxygen. I have a makeshift filter pad baffle that is being supported by two filter bags each filled with seachem matrix and ehfilav. The last pic is of my 3" oscar who is sulking right now because I moved some decorations to put in the overflow. I was also thinking that this could be a quick fix into a hospital tank as I just remove the bags and balls. If i did should I put the bag and balls into the tank to keep the bacteria alive or can I just put them into a bucket with a tank water and put the overflow tube in it and slowly drip tank water in the bucket?
