First buy some cheap interlocking plastic floor material from a Home Depot kind of store (eight 12x18" sheets cost me the equivalent of around 3USD).

Join the sheets with cable ties and cut out sections for equipment.

The whole thing is kept in place by the light fitting and the pieces of plastic that protrude downwards (see first pic).

nice job does water evarpate(sp) fast.

Well ... before the top was just open so evaporation is the same as it always was. It's hot in Taiwan in the summer so you need enough gaseous exchange or the water will cook the fish.

Thanks for the comments! :D

awesome, i should do taht to one of my tanks, im always scared one of my eels will flop out without me seeing it

Ya ... I had to do it because I've just added 3 small pleuro SH to the tank and they're jumpers.

I've never seen any of this type of material at any home improvement stores...Well at least not Ace or Home Depot. Nice tip though, poor mans chiller! :D

The function is not to chill the water ... it's meant to stop my pleuros committing hari kiri.
