Ive been looking at alot of diy plans for standard tanks. Most are built without the black or oak frame which seems ot me like it makes it harder to build what are you uses thoughts on using a frame to biuld instead ive seen them online for about 10$ eahc id buy top and bottom then get acyrlic/glass to seal it into place so i wouldnt need a clamp or something to have them dry to let me know your thoughts about this

If your talking about the plastic frames for the top and bottom, they're mostly to protect from sharp edges of the glass.

You need to use clamps when building a tank. A) to hold things square and steady while sealer/solvent cures and B) to keep seams as tight as possible.

You can build your tank to the dimentions of these frames and install them after the tank is built or build to your tank to a custom size and make your own frames.

o ok i thought it would make it easier if i had the pieces set in the fame it would leave less from for slipping and me making mistakes

From that standpoint it would be useful, just a problem to keep silicone or solvent off it. ;-)
