diy tanks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you dont get DIY tanks. You make 'em yourself. DIY stands for Do It Yourself..... If you build a tank yourself i think its only worth it if you are makin something 180g or bigger

depending on what you make it with, it can be more expensive for even a 300 gallon. poly-carb, glass, tempered glass, plexy. And if you buy a tank that causes major water damage, your insurance company goes after the manufacturer. However, if you build it yourself and there's problems, you get no comp.

I have been doing alot of research and even a 300 gallon seems like it would cost you more to DIY after all material saw blades and little mistakes and wasted material. Tenecor seems to have smokin prices on their acrylic. If you buy in bulk that seems to be kthe only way to really save money.

DiY is good for those that are handy, not the person that has no tools, never has worked with basic power tools/wood. I have built several cabinets, tables, chests, etc. Building a DiY tank would not be hard, nor that costly as long as you have all the tools. Fabio's dad and I are thinking of building one for him as we have all the tools necessary, patience, and time. For a 300 gallon tank made of acrylic it would run around $4000, but a 300 gallon DiY tank will run you about 500, less if you have a contractor's license.

If you know what your doing and have the skills to plan ahead, you can do things at a VERY resonable cost. Two keys are, 1: Tools 2: Plan Ahead

you made it sound like you didnt know in your original post. Glasscages.com sells diy kits but I think its only small sizes.
