So I was at home depot and noticed they have make a lamp kits, so I decided to take the idea and use an old lamp I picked up from good will for 4 bucks, tore it apart down to nothing but the wire and the bulb connection. Bought a blue eco party bulb, fixed it to the tank under the hood (with duct tape). and in 5 minutes I had a ten dollar diy moonlight. Its not show tank worthy but its peaceful to watch at night and in my opinion a perfect brightness (not too bright I also fixed blue christmas lights to another tank, these are less bright but still allow me to view my crab at night. I got this LED strip from Harbor Freight and it was $14.99... I likes the shimmer LEDs give off and coupled with night time viewing makes it look like some true moon lighting.

It has 4 3xLED lamps and you can point them in any direction 360deg!

Nice, did you have to buy a transformer though, nearly all the led sets I came across needed a transformer which was another $20-$30.

Those leds are nice but seem a little bright for night lights. Those would be nice main lights if you got like 3 of then.

They're battery powered aren't they, they look nice but I wanted something I could put on a timer so I could come home to moonlights every night

All I needed to do was wire in an old cellphone charger and it is now powered through a plug. There are two settings and the vid shows the brighter of the two. Also the 4 spotlights can be pointed 360deg so I could point some out of the tank to dim it even further.
