DIY Tree Stump - Under Water

I saw a post on ideas for a Terrarium tree, I am looking for a very big piece of wood for my 130g tank. Unfortunately, I am not willing to pay 100$ for one at the store...so any ideas on creating realistic bog wood for a tank?

Anybody know what kind of resin is safe for fish? I could use fibleglass resin over PVC tubing (easy for me to do this), but not sure on the safety side... Maybe once coated with epoxy paint then it would be safe?

Everything i've read says that fiberglass resin is safe once cured. I'm using it to seal my sump so we'll see soon enough.

Why do you want to seal your wood? As long as you clean it well before placing in your tank it should be alright.
