I've always wanted to build a small tanks and im really considering it now more than ever. I'm thinking along the lines of a 3x2x2 or 3x3x2.

I called a local acrylic company and asked them for pricing on 1/2, never knew there was so many different types of acrylic lol.

So... what type do us hobbyist use?
I also read a thread somewhere about the professional glue used where the guy pours in on when buying new tanks, anyone remember the name (it was stronger that weld-on #16)? It was very pricey that's for sure.

Thanks for the help

Cast acrylic is whats used for tanks...you could get away with using a solvent like (weld-on #4) with 1/2" but it takes some practice on scrap pieces and patience lol... for this method you assemble ur pieces using masking tape, clamps and or jigs then shoot the watery solvent into the seams melting the material together. #40 is a two part epoxy and you put the tank together more in single pieces/joints at a time. Its messy and whatever glue you spill is permenant until sanding/buffing it off back to clear.
