I'm toying with the idea of utilizing this style of filtration in my next build. The tank is 750 gallon and will be used for rays. I'd like to incorporate vortex chambers as the 1st step of mechanical filtration.
Would love to hear from anyone with hands on experience in regard to this matter.
Am I understanding correctly that you need 1 55 gallon drum for each 1500 gph? I already have a few, not sure how many more I'm gonna need. I know I need the water line going into the drum at an angle, anyone found a good reliable way to do this?
Any links or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm kinda stumped as to why this type of filtration seems rather uncommon. Seems to me this would be the ideal way to filter a ray system. Does it not work as great as I'm being led to believe, does it just take up too much room? What gives with no one using this layout?
Thanks in advance for any insight.
