I am building my own w/d sump. I was filling it for a test run and noticed the water covers the drip plate and creates a sealed chamber between the plate and the water level. With no filter material the water slowly bubbles down through the holes. Can I just drill some holes in the divider wall on the far side of the plate, allowing air into this area. I have a lot of 1/8" holes. Would drilling bigger holes help? Anybody else run into this?
