During the summer months here in Korea, it can get very hot and the water in my bass's tank also get's pretty dang hot, so I needed a way to cool things down a little.

Unfortunately I don't have any before photos, but in this photo you can see the right hand side of the lid is just a solid plastic lid with no openings....the whole lid was like this before I started this project.

I cut 2 large openings into the lid. Then I bought 2 plastic eletrical fuse boxes from a local hardware store and cut the lids off of both of them so that I had a box lid with the hinges still in place. I then cut large openings in the box lids and fitted some fly/mosquito netting in the box lids and attached these hinged lids to my tank lid.

Here you can see the new openings on my lid.

This helped to cool the tank water a little, but I needed to reduce the temps more, so I added a wall mounted fan above the larger of the 2 new openings to blow cool air into the tank.

Another thing I did to the lid was to add an inline filter to the return hose that comes from my main pump/filter. This catches so much more crap.
