I'm looking at getting a 125 gallon tank, possibly a 265 and I see some of you guys saying a wet/dry filtration system is the way to go with something like that. I also noticed a few guys mentioning a DIY version being the best? I have no idea where to even begin with this, can someone point me in the right direction?

The best way is to grasp how a wet/dry works, and see on in action if possible (ask the LFS, they may call it sump, wet/dry, or trickle). After you see how it works you'll get it. They're pretty simple. If you're buying new, get a drilled tank if you can.
