Sorry for all the treads. Just been working on some things lately.... Heard somewhere that Albino's typically do not grow as large and I'm wondering if this is true. Also heard that they grow at a slower rate. Planning on moving some of my fish around and curious about this because of my Albino Oscar. I know you guys like pics so here he is....

From what i've seen they grow just as fast and just as big as reds and tigers.

In my experience albinos do have a slower growth rate and do not tend to get as big. Ive had some experience with discus but with the oscars i dont see it as much. They tend to be pretty similar with the normal ones.

In my experience, albinos do not grow slower and/or smaller... In the case of oscars, they're USUALLY calmer than wild-type O's, but they grow at the same rate, and to the same size. BTW, they're usually more sensitive to strong light and a bit porner to diseases.

Best regards.

Daniel.

BTW, when the young oscar are exposed to hunger strikes, they don't grow at the normal rate, and don't get the normal size, no matter what you do. This usually happens BEFORE we get them in a LFS... And it's especially true for the albinos. They get stunted more easily than the "normal" colored ones.

Best regards.

Daniel.
