Between shovelnoses or redtails or anything like that!?

I don't know of any PREDATORY cats that stay small. The whole reason that they are preditors is because they get big enough to eat everything else. But I may be wrong, catfish were never my specialty.

Hiya Micheal, could I get you to define "small", also what do you mean by predatory?
There are several cats that are tiny but still piscevorous, there are a couple in Thailand that feed almost exclusively on loachs and only get about 4", In the US there are 3" madtoms and 10" bullheads.

wait, there are bullheads that only grow 10"? where can you find them. where can you find a madtom?

Most catfish are predatory, even a 4" pictus catfish will eat small tetras and minnows.

I cannot think of a common bullhead species that will stay at 10" long. Most sources claim that the three most well known (black, yellow and brown) can get a foot or more. As for catching them....its easy if you live in an area that has them. Madtoms are a bit more tricky, they tend to live in streams and sometimes you have to dip net or sein for them. Check out this site.... http://www.nativefish.org , check out the articles section. Lots of great info of collecting and keeping natives.

Ive yet to find a Predatory cat that stays Small besides pictus cats, rapheal cats. But those dont get real big to begin with.

You could always go with a white line pim, I have one and he is about 7", not a monster but not tiny either. Decent size for those of us with average aquaria.

Sandtiger you are right, they were madtoms not bullheads, Northern Fla. and georgia share tthe three smallest bullheads (Ameiurus), the flat, the spotted, and the snail. We still need to no the definition of small and of predatory, here is a pick of the spotted bullhead (pretty cool), the three bullheads I listed all reach 28-29cm so almost a foot.
