I noticed a huge demand for a couple that I sold and *one* of the LFS has them at twice the price I remember. It may just be a coincidence.

like you said it depending on where it demand ..location is where determine the price.

It's also determined by the individual store. I have a store that has two right now at about five inches for $32 each. Another store a mile away has one the same size for $100.

the typical season doesn't start until November, so prices are going to be higher in the off-season. Also, it's harder to ship during winter months, so that probably drives the price up.

yeah my lfs said winter times is harder to ship fishes and its not the season for jars.. my lfs said he can order 10" ones but if you want smaller ones then you will have to wait till the time is right

So what season does the Jars breed? Spring?

Definitely depends on the type of Aro. Silvers are now regulars. Blacks, Jars, and Leis are seasonal.

To tell you the truth,i was offered $150.00 for my 10-11" Jar by my local LFS,the same store that wouldnt give me a dime for any of my other fish all year long. But i noticed around here anyways,Aro's ae hard to find except in the fall, anyways i told them NO!!!

When is the right time?

If you are in Australia.. the jardini are mostly wild caught. They breed in the wet season around October and available in stores as fingerlings around November.
