where the corruption never ends
Okay, I have a "10 inch silver arowana partnered with "11 A.gar and both are eating very well, but as I observed the aquarium, the bottom has some scales of the arowana, so I was wondering if they're shedding their skins off or it's some sort of sickness?.The arrowana has a bruise on his head(maybe bitten of by the a.gar) but I just wanted to be sure.

Aros do not shed...Scales that are on the bottom, are injury related...

no aros do not shed the skins, like zennzo said its result of injury.

if the scales are large then its from the aro, if its smaller its from the gar. what size tank is it? and do you have anything else in there?

they maybe fighting at night when the light is off...
i believe the scales are from the sliver aro...right?

My aros only lose scales when they jump at the hood. My silver spooks easily to light colors (red, yellow, orange) and I have to train company not to go running by the tank if they are wearing these colors. They should grow back quickly, if not please seek further help.

well may be the gator gar was trying to help the aro shed his skin :D j/k
well gators are vicious and do try to eat anything that is able to go down his mouth or some times not but do end up killing the fish

Well they're currently at peace for now. I'll try to trade-in my alligator gar for a clown knife(better to be safe than never) to my LFS. I hope the owner accepts it cause the gar's one healthy fella :D

both are currently in a 50 gal. tank(small but they're still "10 inches both) but will transfer them into a 300 gal. tank after 1- 1 1/2 years.
