i was thinking about getting some, are there any cons? will they kill my fish? or will my fish die if they eat one?

breed very slow and grow slow

Agreed^^^

They can lay hundreds of eggs in a few days but not all eggs will hatch. Perhaps about 10-20% would. You won't see the newly hatched snails until after a few months. I only saw my baby assassins about four months after I discovered empty egg cases.

There's no incidence of assassins attacking healthy fish nor killing fish when they are consumed by the fish. They are far too slow to take down a healthy fish. Occasionally they will attack shrimps preferring snails that they can easily latch into particularly ramshorns, and I can understand if they would easily take down a very weak fish but they're not really a concern with fish most of the time.

I have some and they do breed. I agree with all the above, slow growing and only a small percentage of the eggs hatch. They are beautiful snails and very entertaining you should get some. They will not attack your fish if it is healthy I dont see any chance of the snail catching a fish. However if you dont have other snails for them to feed on you will need to feed them a supliment. They will pretty much eat anything that gets to the bottom.

yeah like lupin said, they love ramshorns. infact mine barely touched any snails untill recently. Now they are killing a ton eveyday of the ramshorns. barely have any left. hoping theyll leave them along sometime soon and target my pouch snails. THe mts are barely around as well but i think they breed slower. In case u were wondering i keep MTS, ramshorn, pouch, and assasins together. The tank is gonna have maybe dwarf shrimp and Thai mini crabs sometime soon as well. pure invert tank!!
