do azul ocels and monos grow to the same size

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
azuls definately get bigger then monos & ocels.. usually hitting 2.5ft in aquaria, bigger in the wild if im not mistaken..

When C. Piquiti, were first being brought into the trade...and yet to be officially described they were said to be a variant C. temensis species, a la C.Pinima. Their larger size to C. Ocellaris, C. Orinocensis, C. Monoculous, and overall longer/sleeker look was a heavy trait "supporting" the theory. They were then being called by their common names, Azul (blue) until they were officially described as C. Piquiti. Anyhow...I know I went off on a tangent...yes they do get larger than Mono's, Orino's, and Ocell's. They are more aggressive than Tems, ocells and Monocs in my experience, but do well with Orinocensis as they have a higher aggression level as well.

nice info!

Been good...should see me around more often again....maybe with a few surprises ;)

One of my Orinos has a real bad attitude. Hes just flat out aggressive towards my other Orino. There is only one spot in the tank that the submissive one is allowed to be. If he moves from that, the Alpha will rocket over to him, flare gills and turn sideways, then commence to kicking ass.
