do bad eyes grow?

is a fish has a bad eye (pupil looks really dark), does the eye grow with the fish? or does the eye fall out?

ive caught pinfish with bad eyes beause when they were caught previosly the hook had got is eye. the pupil is mishapen and smaller. but the eye is in
