I just got a rehomed bamboo. She is a female and yes my lenny is a male. She needed a home and we are in the process of building a bigger home for our guys so we took her in. But when I put her in Lenny grabed her fin and wouldn't let go. Now I know this is what they do for breeding but they are both only 2 1/2 yrs old so I thought they would be to young. So is he trying to hurt her???? Should I take her out??

Both aggression and breeding could be factors in this type of situation. Breeding behavior among benthic sharks can be a form of showing dominance over a new addition.

Start with moving the rocks around. Break up the established territory in the tank for the male.

As a whole, bamboos tend to do very well together/in groups.

Thank you zoodiver. The aggression has stoped thank goodness. He hasn't touched her since the first day. I am pleased to see it. I was worried there for a few.

Oh and I did take rock's out and put them in a tote beside the tank and pumped the water from tote to tank and back to keep the filtration of the rock. But I was scared they would get hurt so I had to lower the profile of all the rocks for safty.
