Hi guys. about a 1.5 month ago, my delhezi bichir's barbel nostrols things got completely bitten off. No stump or anything. They still didn't grow back?? will they grow back or no?? with no barbels, my del is always sluggish and never moves. It barely eat any of his food even though it's right in front of it. Is this because the barbel is it's sensory organ and ithelp them to navigate and move?? what should I do??

I read (in the case of catfish) that if the nerves on the wiskers get, bitten off, the whisker won't regrow. in my case, my bichirs ENTIRE nostrol tubes got bitten off. Only the hole remain. I'm pretty sure the nerves of my bichir's tubes are alrady gone! If they do grow back, what kind of food do i need to feed my poly to increase the healing rate?? Meds?? thanks
Has anyone experience a time when thier bichir's tubes got completely bitten off and regrew perfectly?? How long does it take??
i'll try to post a pic, but the injury is pretty serious. No blood scrapes or anything like that. But the ENTIRE 2 barbels were cleanly bitten off. No barely any traces of the barbel are left. Instead of tubes, my bichirs have nostrols (small holes).
Depends on the damage. I've had some Polys where it has grown back and a couple where it hasn't. The ones that were missing their nostril tubes didn't seem to affect them though.
