DO BLACK ARO LOSE THEIR BLACK COLOR

I think your in the wrong forum....But What do you mean with your question?

I can answer you this....Black Aros are black with a white stripe when they are babies...as the grow, this black starts to move to the outside of the fish, and it turns to a brownish blue color....as the fish grows, he goes through a blue phase, this is where we get the "RARE" BLUE ARO we see in the fish stores, it not a blue aro...its a black....Then as he gets even bigger, the coloring becomes even more spectacular as he has a silver base, with a blue/purple/and pink color in each of his scales. The fins are also a bluish color. If you ask me of the 2 species, silver and black, the Black is FAR more colorful!

Hope this helps, and if anyone else out there has more info, please post!!!

Blues are not hybrids...That's what an uneducated local fish store person says they are...Its a ploy to rake in more money for a Black Aro....That's funny...lol...

i have seen a 8" black aro that held its baby color

wow. my black aro is a 14 incher witj a dull silver color, and slight colors on the fins. :( too bad the dark black baby color never stays, that would be an awesome aro.
